The right questions to ask when sourcing wheat

A useful wheat enquiry begins by describing what the product will be used for. A grower looking for seed and a processor purchasing grain may begin with the same variety name, yet their requirements are different. State whether the purchase is for sowing, food processing or feed, and include the approximate quantity and destination.
Ask about the variety and the actual lot
A website introduces a product range. Information about the particular lot being offered needs to be requested separately. Discuss variety identity, lot identification, packaging labels and the relevant documents together. This reduces the chance of a general product description being mistaken for the specification of a particular shipment.
Put technical expectations in writing
Share the parameters that matter to your intended use and any acceptance criteria. For seed, discuss the appropriate seed documents. For commercial grain, identify the analyses needed by your business. General descriptive claims and the technical specification used for an order should be considered separately.
Include packaging and delivery from the start
Bag size, total quantity, destination country and delivery point belong in the same enquiry. Add the preferred timing and documentary requirements. Product selection alone does not complete the supply plan.
Contact the team with a clear request
Begin with the product name, intended use, approximate quantity and destination country. Ask about current lot availability and the documents that can support your requirement.
